So we heard the news last week, and it’s been made official. Daggering is banned by the Broadcasting Commission of Jamaica. For those of you at a loss of how to dance properly to these now censored songs, here’s a little throwback lesson.
Let’s take a looksee!
In case you didn’t catch all the steps, here is a summary:
1. Keep the beat with the upper half of the body, bowing forward with a straight back and a slight bend of the knees.
2. Practically the same, but add a side step. Bring up the left leg with the closing of the arms.
3. Keep the same step, but change the arms. The arms should be very relazed and swung on the sides of the legs or between the legs. Face or stand next to your partner.
4. This step is similar to rowing a boat. Reach out with your arms to form an angle at the waist and pull back.
Happy Practicing!
