She’s turning us on. Keri Hilson has been in the music entertainment business since 2001 when she started out as a song writer penning hits for stars including Usher, Ciara and Britney Spears. Now she’s branched out on her own, releasing her infectious debut, In a Perfect World, this week and still collaborating with the hottest in the music business.

A born and bred Atlantan, Hilson grew up emerged in music. She studied both piano and sining and performed with a girl group through her teen years. After getting involved with writing, Hilson was featured in the background vocals for a few songs with artists including Lloyd Banks and Sean “Diddy” Combs. One year later, Hilson hooked up with Timbaland and was featured on his Shock Value album’s in “The Way I Are,” “Scream,” and a bonus track “Hello.” Hilson continued performing with other artists through 2007 and 2008 appearing on Nas and Britney Spear’s albums. Towards the end of the 2008, Hilson began to release her own singles with three songs from her debut album coming out during the fall, including the huge hit, “Turning Me On” featuring Lil Wayne. Polow Da Don has also been a huge part of Hilson’s success and the two often work together. She’s denied the beef rumors concerning Ciara and Beyonce stemming from her “Turning Me On” remix, stating that all is well with her fellow Southern ladies. Hilson continues to write as part of the collective called The Clutch.
Hilson’s album was released this week and the songs are all spot on. There are cameos from established artists like Lil Wayne, Ne-Yo, Keyshia Cole, Trina and Kanye West.
