Yesiree it is Jamaica’s Independence Day, today on August 6th, this year celebrating 47 years of independence. In 1962 the island located in the Greater Antilles gained its independence from Great Britain and established its own government. New government? That means national anthem and a good ol’ ska getdown. Why do we care so much here at RBMVibes? Many of the artists that we feature here are Jamaican, a good deal of the music we feature is reggae (undoubtedly influenced by Jamaican culture) and we watched that WeTV special on first ladies of the world and first lady Mrs. G promised us a Mango-sa. We’re still waiting!!!
